I think it is the version of Story of my Life from Live at the Roxy.

Jen is right. It's the live version from the Roxy. Saw The movie last week with my nice on dvd.
Never heared a Social D. song on Full Metal Jacket.

What about the movie "Rounders"? I remember seeing a preview for the movie and they used social d's cover of Ring of Fire...but i dont remember ever hearing the song in the actually movie.

Thy Will Not Mine - The reason why they use the live version from live at the Roxy is because the band own's that version because of their manager and Timebomb Recordings are the same company; therefore, they get a cut of the money.
The originals are owned by the rights of Sony Music which I believe the band is trying to get ownership back to the rights of those particular records. That's the draw-back of being on a major record company - the own your music!
